# ZEAM :: Pass

> Agents pay in USDC on Base over x402 (per call, per tool, per unit or by time), get in with an admitted key, or both. A plugin in the seller's server. No sign-up, no API key.

## Sell (/sellers)

- Paywall, gate or both, in front of an MCP or API.
- The seller keeps 90.01% of each sale, paid to its wallet through a split contract.
- ZEAM pays the gas.

- Per call: price.
- Per tool: the tool's price, else prices[tool], else price.
- Per unit: the tool's unit; the tool reports units; charge = units × unit, at most its price.
- By time: time { block, blockMs, idleMs, maxBlocks } (defaults blockMs 250, idleMs 0, maxBlocks 14400); tools with meter "time"; adds buy_time, line. Paywall and both.
- Free: free tools; freeLimit N per tool per address per clock hour, then 429 free_limit.
- Python: prices, free, free_limit, time; @agents.tool(price, unit, free, meter).
- 402: amount, pricing, prices. tools/list: _meta["zeam-pass/price"]. OpenAPI: x-price.

## Gate (/gaters)

- The seller lists the addresses of the keys it admits.
- Each call is signed with the agent's key as a zero-value x402 exact payment (amount "0"). Nothing is paid and nothing goes on chain. The key needs no funds and no ETH. The seller's server checks it.
- An admitted key signs an x-grant naming another key, for one tool or *, until a set time. The grant works only for that key. Dropping the admitting key ends its grants.
- Grants: signGrant (Node), sign_grant (Python), the WordPress settings page.
- 10,000 checks a month free, then 2,000 checks for $1 USDC, from a credit wallet funded with USDC on Base. No ETH.
- When credit runs out: refuse, or allow and warn.
- Both mode: only admitted keys, paying per call. Paid calls are not gate checks.

## Buy (/buyers)

- An agent with its own key and USDC on Base pays any Pass seller per call over x402. No sign-up. Paying needs no ETH.
- Bridge: X402_MCP_URL=<seller>/agents/mcp npx -y @zeam-labs/x402-mcp-bridge --tools (X402_PRIVATE_KEY holds the agent's key).
- An unpaid call answers 402 with the price. The agent takes back what it deposits and does not spend at <base>/refund.
- Fund a pass at https://zeampass.com/pass: one pass, one seller. It pays that seller up to the amount loaded.
- The balance stays on the pass until sent home. Sent home only to the funding wallet.
- ZEAM pays the deposit's gas.
- The pass key is derived from the funding wallet's signature. ZEAM keeps no key and no secret that makes one.
- The connector link is the key: whoever holds it can spend the pass at its seller, and nothing else.
- pass_balance (free): loaded, spent, returned (net of gas), gas paid, remaining.
- A seller that admits only listed keys needs a grant naming the pass address.
- Refund: free when the channel's fees cover the gas. Otherwise the funder signs a gasless USDC payment of the quoted gas plus 15%, taken from what comes back. Quote: https://api.zeampass.com/relay/quote

- WordPress 6.0+, PHP 7.4+: Plugins → Add New → search "ZEAM Pass"

## Gas

Paying needs no ETH. A refund the seller sends needs no ETH. selfSend, initiateWithdraw and finalizeWithdraw are transactions from your wallet and need ETH on Base for gas.
